Media Award

The Green Growth Media Award is organised to appreciate outstanding journalists that contribute to advancing and raising awareness about green growth initiatives in Rwanda. The award forms part of the 2018 Development Journalism Awards, which recognize and promote excellence and professionalism by awarding best-performing journalists and media houses. The Development Journalism Awards are organised by the Rwanda Governance Board in collaboration with Rwanda Journalists Association.

The award is a platform to recognise the efforts of the media to report about sustainable development and raise awareness about challenges and opportunities in the environment sector as they relate to green growth. The awards recognise the Top Three journalists/reporters after careful selection by a panel against specific criteria.

The Rwanda Green Growth Media Award will be given during the celebration of the African Day of Information on 7 November 2018. Winners will also be recognised at the Africa Green Growth Forum during an awards ceremony and concert. The awards are led by the Rwanda Ministry of Environment and supported by a range of partners.

Entries should be submitted to Rwanda Journalists Association (ARJ) offices in Remera – Amahoro Stadium – Road KG 17 AV 37. Entries close 5pm, 12 October 2018.
